Franklin Half Dollars are common and can be bought for less than $10 but can be worth more in higher grades of uncirculated.

Grade – Condition:

Franklin Half Dollar value in mint state often starts at $10 and increases with each point grade from MS60 through MS68 and coins with FBL (Full Bell Lines) on the Liberty Bell are worth a large premium.

The most valuable Franklin Half Dollar is the 1953-S graded MS66 with Full Bell Lines by PCGS. It sold for $35,075 because it’s rare in this grade condition.

Franklin Half Dollar proofs are worth a nice premium especially proofs dated 1950 through 1953 and if they’re DCAM (Deep Cameo) then they can be worth several hundred to several thousand dollars each.

Varieties:

The 1961 Proof doubled die reverse is the most valuable variety with a starting value of around $500 in mint state.
