Patriotic Civil War Tokens

All the symbols are a part of the Order of Odd Fellows. A Masonic-like organization organized for the purpose of giving aid to those in need and of pursuing projects for the benefit of all mankind.  The three chain links distinguish this organization as each bear meaning: Friendship, Love and Truth. The heart in hand symbolizes Charity. The Eye of God represents His observance of us continually.  The bow and arrows represent the First Order of Degree within the Order, reminding us of the covenant between Jonathan and David. These tokens were turned into lapel pins and worn proudly by the Copperheads as symbols of peace causing a lot of discontent within the Union.
